As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering meaningful social value across the Barrow-
in-Furness area, we are pleased to outline one of the support initiatives which we have
agreed to undertake for Walney Community Hub. This facility plays a vital role in serving
the local community and our contribution aims to enhance its accessibility, usability, and
overall environment for the benefit of resident and partner organisations.
Top Notch Contractors is proud to announce the donation and construction of a custom-built
stage at Walney Community Centre, a vital hub for grassroots initiatives, inclusive arts, and
community engagement across Barrow and Walney.
The new accessible stage—designed, supplied and installed by Top Notch’s skilled
team—will serve as a permanent fixture for performances, workshops, and events hosted by
a range of local charities and groups, including Youthability and Stitch Different, both of
which champion accessibility, creativity, and empowerment for people of all abilities.
“We believe in building more than just structures—we build opportunities,” said Phillip
Reinbach, Director of Top Notch Contractors. “Walney Community Centre is a cornerstone of
local life, and we’re honoured to contribute something that will support its mission for years
to come.”

The donation reflects Top Notch’s ongoing commitment to social value and community
investment. The stage will be used for open mic nights, inclusive theatre, youth showcases,
and seasonal events, offering a platform—literally and figuratively—for residents of all ages
and backgrounds.
Centre Manager Les McLeese expressed gratitude for the support:
“This stage is a game-changer. It gives our charities and community groups a professional
space to express, connect, and thrive. We’re incredibly thankful to Top Notch Contractors for
their generosity and vision.”
